DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1645Z October 18, 2005

SE Texas:
A fire burning near the Anahuac Nat'l Wildlife Reserve in Chambers
county is producing moderately dense smoke.  Some smoke as drifted into
the Gulf of Mexico from weak westerly winds last night and now northerly
winds spreading it further south.  It currently extends west to the LA/TX
boarder (along the coastline) to 62km S of Sabine Pass off shore to 32km
SE off shore of Gilchrist, TX.  A new puff of moderate smoke can be seen
moving N currently covering the southern half of Chambers county.

LA:
A 3km wide plume of thin smoke extends 34km from an agricultural burn
in Bossier county near the town of Midway.

AR:
A 3km wide plume of thin smoke extends 33km from an agricultural burn
in Grant county near the intersection of US-65 and US-270.
