DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 2300Z December 12, 2005

Southern California:
A fire in northen Santa Barbara county east of Santa Maria in the Los
Padres National Forest is spreading thick smoke to the southeast into
southern Ventura county. Another fire in northeast Ventura county is
spreading thick smoke eastward into northwest Los Angeles county.

Arkansas:
Fires in eastern Hot Spring, northern Calhoun and extreme northwest
Columbia county in southern Arkansas are producing narrow, thin smoke
plumes that extend up to 60 km to the southeast.

Alabama/Florida Panhandle:
Fires over southern Alabama in eastern Hale, western Marengo, northern
Clarke and Tallapoosa counties in Alabama and eastern Santa Rosa county
in Florida are producing narrow moderately dense smoke plumes that are
extending up to about 75 km to the southeast.
