DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0130Z January 14, 2006

Louisiana:
Two fires in southeast Vermillion county produced narrow dense plumes
of smoke that extended south southeast across Marsh Island and into the
Gulf of Mexico.

Texas:
A fire in southwest Jack county emitted a narrow 80-90 km long dense
smoke plume that moved south southeast across Palo Pinto, Parker, Hood
and Erath counties.  Another fire in northeast Palo Pinto county produced
a narrow 70-80 km long dense smoke plume that extended south southeast
into Hood and Parker counties.  The county next to Palo Pinto, Parker,
a fire produced a dense smoke plume 70-80 km long that moved over Hood
and Somervell counties.

A fire in Chambers county emitted a thin smoke plume that moved west
southwest across Galveston Bay.

Oklahoma:
A large fire in Carter county produced a narrow thin plume of smoke that
stretched 60-70 km into Love county and Cooke county Texas.

Arizona:
A fire burning in Kaibab National Forest in Coconino county continues to
produce a thick area of smoke that is moving northwest across the county.
Some of the smoke from the southern extent of the plume is moving across
Grand Canyon National Park Airport.
