DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0145Z February 3, 2006

Texas:
A fire very near the coast of northeastern Matagorda county produced
a smoke plume that advanced rapidly eastward before dissipating this
evening about 40 miles south of Lake Charles.

A fire over northern Webb county had a small smoke plume that extended
downstream to the vicinity of Freer in northern Duval county.

Mexico:
A fire over the northern half of Nuevo Leon was producing a thin smoke
plume that extended about 50 miles east to about 30 miles southwest of
the Rio Grande along the border of Starr county.

A fire over Sonora about 100 miles south of Douglas, NM had a thin smoke
plume that extended about 20 miles east to the vicinity of Sahuaripa.
