DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1630Z APRIL 03, 2006.

Southeast Oklahoma:
Two fires located in Latimer County are blowing smoke south into
Pushmataha and Choctaw Counties with a very narrow and thin plume.
In Le Flore County there is a single fire that is giving off a thin,
yet lengthy smoke plume that is blowing south into Pushmataha County.
Also, a fire located on the border of Pittsburg and Pushmataha Counties
is emitting a narrow smoke plume of thin density and blowing to the south.

  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
