Eastern States and Canada: A large area of smoke is visible from the Great Lakes down through the Mississippi Valley and then moving northeastward over the Eastern Seaboard. The massive wildfires across northern and central British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba are the source of this smoke. The thickest area extends from northern Alabama to western North Carolina, however the smoke can be seen moving from New England into Nova Scotia. NLM
