DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1640Z July 12, 2006.

California:
A fire in Stanislaus county of central California is producing a
moderately dense plume of smoke that is fanning out to the east.
A large wildfire in San Bernardino county of southern California is
producing a dense to very dense plume of smoke that is moving to the
northeast.  Moderately dense smoke from this wildfire is covering most
of southern Nevada and light smoke is spreading throughout almost all
of Utah.

  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
