DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1600Z August 30, 2006

Canada/Northwestern US:
Moderately dense smoke from last nights fires in Washington, Idaho, and
Montana has traveled through British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan,
Manitoba, the Northwest Territories, and western Ontario in a
northeasterly direction.

Washington:
This morning fires in Okanogan county are producing moderately dense
smoke moving east to the Idaho border. Dense smoke from the fires in
Columbia county is moving E NE extending into western Montana.

Montana:
Fires in Park and Sweet Grass counties are producing dense smoke extending
250 miles to the northeast towards North Dakota.

California:
The fire in San Bernardino county is still burning and producing
moderately dense smoke moving northeast across northwestern Arizona,
and southern Nevada, into southern Utah.
