DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0115Z September 20, 2006

Southern California:
The large fire in NE Ventura county continues to produce a plume of very
dense smoke. The smoke stretches to the NE to southern Inyo County and
southern Nevada.

Northern California:
Fires in N Trinity County produced a plume of dense smoke that drifted
to the SE over SW Shasta and N Tehama. Thin smoke also drifted eastward
from fires in Sierra and El Dorado Counties.

Texas:
A fire in S Jefferson County caused a narrow plume of thin ash that
extended southward over the Gulf of Mexico.
