DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0210Z October 23, 2006

California:
A bunch of fires from central of eastern Glenn to central of eastern
Colusa counties of California are producing moderately dense plumes
of smoke moving to the north and covered eastern portion of Glenn and
Colusa counties and western portion of Butte county.

Oregon:
Two fires in central Josephine county of southern Oregon are producing
moderately dense plumes of smoke which is moving to the northeast and
has covered most portion of both Josephine and Jachson counties. A
fire in northwestern Jefferson county of central Oregon is producing
a moderately dense plume of smoke fanning to the north. Two fires in
southern Lake county and along the border between Coos and Curry counties
are producing thin to moderately dense plumes of smoke.

Washingtion and Vancouver Island:
Several fires in Jefferson, Clallam, and Grays Harbor counties of
northwestern Washington are producing thin to moderately dense plumes
of smoke moving to the norrheast. Several fires in Vancouver Island
of Canada are producing thin to northeasterly moderately dense plumes
plumes of smoke.

Idaho:
A fire in central Panhandle of Idaho is producing a thin plume of
northwesterly smoke.

Saskatchewan:
A fire in southern Saskatchewan of Canada is producing a thin to
moderately dense plume of smoke moving southeasterly.

Kansas:
A fire in Stafford county of central Kansas is producing a thin plume
of smoke that is movng eastward.
