DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0300Z November 1, 2006

Arizona:
Two fires in southern Apache county near the town of Hawley Lake are
producing narrow plumes of moderately dense smoke moving northeast,
but staying within county lines.
Two fires in southern Coconino and one in northern Gila counties are
emitting narrow plumes of moderately dense smoke moving northeast.
In west central Coconino county near Grand Canyon Caverns, a fire is
producing an area of light smoke moving northeast, but staying within
county lines.

California:
A fire in Fresno county near the town of Hume is producing a plume of
moderately dense smoke moving south into Tulare county.
Numerous fires east of the San Francisco Bay area in the counties of
Sacramento, Amador, and Tuolumne are producing light plumes of smoke.
A fire in southeast Shasta county in the Lassen Volcanic National Park
is producing a moderately dense plume of smoke moving east into Lassen
county.

Oregon:
Fires in western Oregon in the counties of Lincoln, Benton, Polk,
Tillamooh, Yamhill, Washington and Clatsop are emitting moderate plumes
of smoke moving west towards the coastline into the Pacific.
A fire in central Crook county is producing a light plume of smoke moving
northwest, but staying within county borders.  Another small fire is
burning in Harney county emitting light smoke within county borders.
A fire in Union county is emitting a moderately dense smoke plume moving
northeast into Wallowa county and southeastern Washington state.

Idaho:
Multiple fires burning in the counties of Idaho, Clearwater, Latah,
Benewah and Kootenai are producing an area of moderately dense smoke
moving east into parts of western Montana.  The full extent of smoke
could not be seen due to cloud cover.

Texas:
Fires in the counties of Dallam, Hartley, Moore, and Hansford are
producing an overall area of moderately dense smoke moving northwest
into the western Oklahoma Panhandle.
Two fires along the Gulf Coastline in the counties of Calhoun and Brazoria
are emitting narrow plumes of moderately dense smoke moving north into
neighboring counties.

Georgia:
A fire in Telfair county is emitting an area of moderately dense smoke
moving north into Treutien, Laurens, Wheeler and Montgomery counties.
Multiple fires in Mitchell and Colquitt are producing an area of
moderately dense smoke staying within county lines.

Florida:
A fire in southern Liberty county is emitting a moderately dense plume
of smoke moving northeast into Leon, Gadsden and Wahulla counties.
In Lafayette a fire is producing light smoke moving north into Columbia
and Suwannee counties.
