DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z December 11, 2006

Louisana:
A fire on the Vermilion-Iberia county border is producing a moderately
dnese to dense plume of smoke that is moving northwestward across the
Vermilion, Acadia, and Jefferson Davis three county intersection. A fire
in norhtern Ibepville county is producing a moderately dense plume of
smoke that is moving northwestward along the Ibepville-West Baton Goug
county border into Pointe Coupee county.

Areas of smoke are analyzed using GOES-EAST and GOES-WEST Visible satellite imagery.

Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.

A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.

Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
