DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0150Z January 17, 2007

California:
A fire in Sequoia National Forest in southern Fresno county is producing
a thin plume of smoke that is moving northward into west of central
Fresno county. Three fires in central and southern Imperial county are
producing thin plumes of smoke that are moving southward across the
US-Mexico border into northern Mexico.

Mexico:
A fire near northeastern the Gulf of California in northern Mexico is
producing a thin plume of black smoke that is moving southwestward into
the Gulf of California.

Florida:
A fire in northern Lake county is producing a thin plume of smoke that is
moving northeastward into the Atlatic. A fire in Hendry county near Lake
Okeechobee is producing a thin plume of smoke that is moving northeastward
acrosss Lake Okeechobee into central St. Lucie county.

Cuba:
A fire in Cuba is producing a thin to moderately dense plume of smoke
that is moving southwestward into the ocean.
