Gulf of Mexico A broad area of mostly thin smoke was seen over the Gulf of Mexico, mainly between 85-95W. The smoke is a little more dense over the southwest Gulf in the Bay of Campeche and also off the coast of southeast Louisiana down to about 25N. The source of the smoke is numerous fires over southeast Mexico and northern Guatemala. Ruminski
