DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 1545Z May 17, 2007

Alaska:  Morning visible imagery shows thin haze over the northeastern
quadrant of the state drifting to the westsouthwest.

Southeastern US/Southern US/Gulf of Mexico/East Coast/Western Atlantic:
Winds at the southern end of a frontal boundary has pushed the smoke
just off the Georgia coast but is still lingering over northeastern
Florida and southward into south-central Florida. Very thin smoke/haze
cover the central Gulf of Mexico.

New Jersey:
Smoke for the fire close to the Pinelands National Reserve appears to
have been eliminated by thundershowers yesterday afternoon.

Arizona:
A very small plume continue to emit from a fire in southern Coconino
county near the Gila county border.

Southern Canada/Wisconsin/Great lakes region:
A large area of haze/smoke covers the western Great Lakes region including
Wisconsin, upper Michigan eastern Ontario province and western Quebec
province.
