DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Western United States: A large area of moderately dense and dense smoke from numerous wildfires burning across the Western U.S. was observed this morning from northern California/southern Oregon through the Central Plateau Region to the Southern Rockies. The most dense smoke was caused by the fires in northern California, southern Oregon and northern Nevada. Alaska/Northwest Territories: Numerous fires scattered along much of the length of the Yukon Valley and northern Alaska continued to cause thin to moderately dense smoke.
