moderately dense plume of smoke that is moving to both the south and
the north with the denser portion moving southward into Grant county of
Oregon. A bunch of fires in western and central Idaho county of western
Idaho are producing moderately dense to very dense plumes of smoke that
are mainly moving east-northeasterly into eastern Idaho county. A fire
in Nei Perce county of western Idaho is producing a thin to moderately
dense plume of smoke that is moving northeasterly into central Clearwater
county of Idaho. A fire in northeastern corner of Idaho county of Idaho
is producing a very dense plume of smoke that is moving westerly across
Ravalli county of Montana into western Granite county of Montana. A fire
in Lewis and Clark county of Montana is producing a moderately dense to

Unless otherwise indicated:
  • Areas of smoke are analyzed using GOES-EAST and GOES-WEST Visible satellite imagery.
  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
