DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0143Z September 05, 2007

California/Nevada/Oregon:
A big fire along Lassen and Plumas counties border in northern California
is producing a very dense plume of smoke that is moving easterly then
northerly into northern Mumboldt county of northern Nevada. A fire in
central Churchill county of Nevada is producing a moderately dense puff of
smoke that is moving easterly into central Ereka county of Nevada. A fire
in western Tehama county of California is producing a thin to moderately
dense plume of smoke that is moving easterly. A fire in southern Tuolumne
county of California is producing a thin to moderately dense plume of
smoke that is moving northeasterly into northeastern of the county. A
fire along Santa Clark-Stanislaus county boundary in California is
producing a locally dense plume of smoke that is mainly moving east
southeasterly into southern Mercede county of California. A fire in
Los Angeles county is producing a thin plume of smoke that is moving
easterly. A fire in northern Jefferson county is producing a locally
very dense plume of smoke that is moving both northerly into southern
Washington and easterly into eastern Crook county.

Idaho/Montana/North Dakota/southern Saskatchewan/southern
Manitoba/Minnesota/the east coast states/the Middle Plains:
The outrageous fires in central Idaho and western Montana are still
producing very dense plumes of smoke that are moving east northeasterly
and the densest portion of the smoke has covered central Idaho and western
half of Montana. The residual smoke from both this morning's burning and
yesterday's has covered the area ranges from central Montana to just east
of Great Lakes and southern Manitoba. The several days' residual smoke
formed a large area of thin smoke which has covered the east coast states
from New Jersy at north all the way south to northern Florida. Some of
the residual smoke has brought to Middle Plains by a weather system.

Wyoming:
A A fire in western Sherioan county of northern Wyoming is producing
a very dense plume of smoke that is moving northeasterly into southern
Montana.

Manitoba:
A fire in southern Manitoba is producing a thin to moderately dense
plume of smoke that is moving northwesterly.

Virginia:
Three fires in Louisa and Albemarle are producing thin plumes of smoke
that are moving southward.

Alaska:
A fire north of Gates of the Arctic National Parks & Pres is producing a
moderately dense plume of smoke that is moving northerly. The fire just
SW of Fort Yukon the southern branch of the Yukon River is producing
thin smoke that is drifting around the area.
