DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0100Z September 29, 2007

Manitoba:
Multiple fires across southern Manitoba are producing an area of
moderately dense smoke that is moving north NW across Lake Manitoba. There
are numerous fires burning across Saskatchewan, but due to cloud cover
smoke is not seen.

North Carolina/South Carolina:
A fire on the Burke/Rutherford county border is producing a moderately
dense smoke plume moving south across Cleveland county North Carolina
and Cherokee county South Carolina.

Lower Mississippi Valley/Southeast/Tennessee Valley:
Multiple fires are burning across the region producing light plumes of
smoke moving in a mostly southerly direction.

Alaska:
The wildfire in northern Alaska continues to produce an area of moderately
dense smoke towards the southwest.
