THROUGH 2330Z November 15, 2007

Florida:
A fire in the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve S.P. produced a large puff

A fire near Baird,FL in SE Polk county is producing a plume of thin to
moderate smoke that extends about 83km SE to Ockeechobee, FL. The plume
is about 17km wide.

Louisiana:
Multiple agricultural fires in the southern coastal parishes along
with fires in the Mississippi River Valley (a few fires in SW AR in
the Red River Valley) produced multiple puffs and plumes of thin smoke

Unless otherwise indicated:
  • Areas of smoke are analyzed using GOES-EAST and GOES-WEST Visible satellite imagery.
  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
