DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0200Z March 27, 2008

South Carolina:
Along the border of Newberry and Laurens Counties, a heavy smoke plume was
observed moving northeast into the north-central part of the state. The
smoke plume extended 30 miles out from the source.

In McCormick County, a heavy smoke plume was seen moving northeast into
Greenwood and Newberry Counties, and the plume extended out 25 miles
from the source.

In Berkeley County, a moderately dense smoke plume was observed by the
analyst moving northeast into Georgetown County and then out over the
Atlantic Ocean.


Georgia:
A moderately dense smoke plume was spotted moving northeast into Effingham
County and also into Beaufort County (South Carolina).


Florida:
Along the panhandle, a moderately dense some plume was seen moving north
out of Santa Rosa County and extended out only 10 miles from the source.


Mississippi:
In Franklin County, a moderately dense smoke plume was observed moving
north into Jefferson County and extended out 20 miles from the source.
