Florida: A fire seen most of today north of Cape Canaveral could not be seen in the past few hours. It had been producing an area of light to moderate smoke that extended westward. Southeastern U.S. Cloud cover prevents assessment of smoke from the numerous fires in southern Georgia and possibly elsewhere in the southeast. Hawaii: A fire northwest of Kilauea is producing a narrow plume of light smoke that extends westward.
