DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0215Z, April 4, 2008

Oregon:
In Curry County, a heavy smoke plume was observed moving north,
and extending out 30 miles from the source. A moderately dense smoke
plume in northern Douglass and southern Lane Counties was seen moving
northeast into central Lane County and southwest Linn Counties. Also,
a moderately dense smoke  plume in Lake County was seen moving east
and extending out 30 or so miles; lighter smoke extends further into
northwest Harney County.

North Dakota:
In Oliver County, a light smoke plume was seen racing to the east and
extended out 75 miles from the source. Just to the south, in Morton
County, a light plume producing black smoke was observed moving to the
east as well, and extended out 90 miles.

Hawaii:
Burning vegetation from Kilauea was producing a light smoke plume,
extending south some 75 miles.
