DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Impact of California Fires: Moderate to heavy smoke extended from northern California, across southern and western Oregon into southern and eastern Washington. Large area of light smoke stretched farther east covering portions of Idaho, Montana and the Dakotas. Idaho: A moderate to dense plume of smoke extended 175 km to the northeast into Montana from a blaze in Valley County. Northwest Territories/Saskatchewan/Manitoba: Smoke of various concentrations covered a large area of northern Alberta, northern Saskatchewan, northern Manitoba and the central portion of the Northwest Territories.
