THROUGH 1500Z SEPTEMBER 25, 2008

In northern Tulare County a fire is generating light to moderately dense
smoke which is traveling to the north. The smoke extends over 200km
reaching the northern portion of Tuolumne County.

Oregon:
A light haze can be seen through the central counties of Deschutes, Crook
and Wheeler. This may be smoke from the Rattle Fire and Lonesome Complex.

Canada:
An area of haze of unknown composition can be seen moving through
northwestern Ontario out over the Hudson Bay. This may be remnant smoke
from the fires in Saskatchewan.

Unless otherwise indicated:
  • Areas of smoke are analyzed using GOES-EAST and GOES-WEST Visible satellite imagery.
  • Only a general description of areas of smoke or significant smoke plumes will be analyzed.
  • A quantitative assessment of the density/amount of particulate or the vertical distribution is not included.
  • Widespread cloudiness may prevent the detection of smoke even from significant fires.
