DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 0300Z NOVEMBER 04, 2008

Tennessee/Kentucky:
A fire burning in Breathitt county is producing light to moderately dense
smoke moving E into Knott, Floyd and Magoffin counties.  In Montgomery
county Tennessee a fire is emitting light smoke N into Christian county.
A fire on the border of Fentress and Morgan counties is producing light
to moderately dense smoke W into Clay, Overton and Jackson counties.

Alabama:
Three fires burning in Wilcox county are producing light to moderately
dense smoke moving SW into Marengo, Washington, Clarke and Monroe
counties.  A fire in Convington county is producing light smoke SW into
Conecuh and Escambia counties.  In Washington county a fire is emitting
light smoke SW into Perry and Greene counties in Mississippi.  Numerous
other fires are burning across the state producing mainly light smoke.

Louisiana:
A fire in Evangeline county is emitting light smoke NW into Allen,
Rapides and Vernon counties.  A fire in Allen county is producing light
smoke NW into Beauregard county.  In Beauregard county a fire is emitting
light to moderately dense smoke NW into Newton county Texas.  A fire in
Natchitoches county is producing light smoke NW into Red River and De
Soto counties.  In Winn county a fire is emitting light smoke moving NW,
but staying within county borders.  A fire in Jackson county is emitting
light smoke NW into Bienville, Lincoln and Claiborne counties. Finally
a fire in Claiborne county is emitting light smoke NW into Webster and
Columbia counties in Arkansas.  Numerous smaller fires are burning across
the state emitting mostly light plumes of smoke.

Texas:
A fire in Tyler county is producing light to moderately dense smoke NW
into Polk, Angelina, Trinity and Cherokee counties.  In Sabine county
a fire is emitting light to moderately dense smoke NW into Shelby and
Augustine counties.  Some smaller fires are burning across western and
the Panhandle of Texas producing only light smoke.

Oklahoma:
In McCurtain county a fire is producing moderately dense smoke NW into
Leflore and Pushmataha counties.

Arkansas/Missouri/Kentucky/Tennessee:
Numerous fires are burning across the southern section of the state.
Most fires are producing light to moderately dense smoke  moving NW.
A large area of moderately dense smoke spreads across sections of
western Tennessee, Kentucky, southeast Missouri and northeast Arkansas as
numerous smaller fires producing light smoke combine together to create
a moderately dense smoke area in this region.  The smoke is spreading
into S Illinois and farther east into W Kentucky and Tennessee.
