DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

East Coast and northern Gulf of Mexico: The area of smoke noted earlier just off the coast of the Carolinas is still seen nearly parallel to the coast and is quite thin. Otherwise, a large number of agricultural and prescribed burns were seen today from the Carolinas into Georgia, Florida, Alabama and Mississippi. Numerous smoke plumes were observed and can be seen via the links below. Ruminski THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
