DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Alaska: Narrow Ribbon of light haze in central Alaska may be composed in part of remnant smoke from several fires in Alaska. Canada and northern US: Remnant light to moderate smoke from fires over northwest Canada and particularly from a blaze south of L. Athabasca in Saskatchewan covered large portions of Alberta, Saskatchewan, extreme southwest Manitoba, Montana, the Dakotas and Minnesota. Florida: A fire in extreme northwest Wakulla County generated a moderate cloud of smoke that moved across the Apalachee Bay and over Taylor and Dixie counties as of sunset. More information on additional areas of smoke associated with these fires and others can be found at the locations listed below. THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
