DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Ohio Valley/Great Lakes/Mississippi Valley/Southern Ontario/Quebec: Earlier Today: A subtle area of light smoke was seen around sunrise stretching from the Mid Mississippi Valley/Western Ohio Valley stretching northeast through the Western Great Lakes and into southern Ontario and southern Quebec. California: The Lockheed and La Brea fires were combining to produce a moderately dense smoke plume that encompassed an area from the Lockheed fire south along the coastal counties of Santa Cruz/Monterey/San Luis Obispo where it then combined with the La Brea fire over Santa Barbara county and then covered a good portion of southern California and western Arizona and offshore southern California.
