THROUGH 1832Z June 1, 2010
Alaska/Northern Canada: Moderately dense to extremely dense smoke from numerous wildfires over Alaska and the Yukon Territory stretched from central and northern Alaska and the northern Yukon Territory into the Northwest Territories and western Nunavut. Light to moderate smoke then extended through Northwest British Columbia and into central and southern portions of Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. Western Gulf of Mexico/Bay of Campeche: Light residual smoke from fires in central America stretched northward from the Bay of Campeche into the western Gulf of Mexico. Southeastern New England: Remnant moderately dense smoke from wildfires in Quebec was mostly over the northwest Atlantic this morning but a portion of it did extend over southeastern New England. Cloud cover over this region did hinder smoke analysis. Hanna THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
