DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Eastern US: A large area of thick haze and aerosols cover nearly all of the Eastern US from the Mississippi River east, under the dome of high pressure. Only clear(er) areas are over Florida and S GA. A large pocket of unknown aerosols can be seen in the Sely flow across much of the Gulf of Mexico as well (excluding the FL west coast)... this may contain some Saharan Dust/Sand. Offshore of Oregon: Two fires in SW Yamhill county produced thin and moderate smoke that moved due west into the Pacific... and now extend up to 100km offshore. Gallina THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
