DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Eastern US: A large area of thick haze/aerosols continues to cover much of the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic and into the Ohio Valley ahead of a front draped across Michigan, Illinois and into Texas. Some light remnant smoke could be mixing in over western Maine and southeast through western New York and southern Ontario. Central Canada: Some light smoke can be seen over Central Ontario and into Minnesota, Wisconsin, and extreme eastern North and South Dakota behind the front. Light to moderate smoke is also present over northern Saskatchewan through eastern Northwest Territories and into Nunavut province. British Columbia: Large fire in Northern British Columbia continues to produce moderate to dense smoke that extends in all directions, but the bulk of the smoke extends to the south and east.
