DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Central Canada/Southern Quebec and Ontario/Pacific Northwest/Northern Tier US/Great Lakes/Ohio Valley/Mid Atlantic/East Coast US: An expansive area of smoke spreads across central Canada from north to south and across the northern tier US and east toward the eastern US coast. Another pocket moves east northeast across the Pacific Northwest and combines with smoke from central Canada fires. Individual pockets of moderately dense to dense smoke extend everywhere across the overall smoke. A dense pocket extends from northern Alberta into the western Northwest Territories and then southeast over NW Saskatchewan, central Manitoba into west central Ontario. Another dense pocket lies over southern Alberta, Saskatchewan and just over the border into northern Montana. Moderately dense pockets extend across northern California, southeast Oregon, into central Idaho. Another area spreads over a large section of Alberta, Northwest Territories and across northern Saskatchewan and then southeast over Manitoba into southern Ontario. This pocket also moves south over the border area of Alberta and Saskatchewan and into northern Montana and Idaho. One final pocket of moderately dense to dense smoke stretches over southeast Ontario just north of Lake Huron. J Kibler THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED.
