DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Western US: Areas of blowing dust were visible late this afternoon and early this evening emanating from sources in central and southeastern Washington as well as north central Oregon. The thin density blowing dust was moving mainly to the east-northeast. A rather thick band of blowing dust originating from a source in southeastern Idaho spread to the northeast into northwestern Wyoming just prior to sunset. A couple more sources for blowing dust were visible coming off of dry lake beds in northwestern Nevada and west Central Nevada. These thin density plumes were moving to the east-northeast.
