DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Northern Great Basin/Inter Mountain West/Northern California: Numerous fires are burning across these regions with some burning for the last few days. The fires are producing mostly light to moderately dense smoke although a few have thick smoke associated with them. Most of the smoke plumes associated with the fires are still attached. Mississippi Valley: Not as many fires and associated smoke plumes were seen today due to cloud cover. Northeast California: Dust/Dirt from Upper Alkali Lake (dry) is blowing west across Modoc county. J Kibler THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED. IT WILL NO LONGER DESCRIBE THE VARIOUS PLUMES THAT ARE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES.
