DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY
THROUGH 2345Z November 18, 2010
Eastern Gulf of Mexico: An area of remnant smoke was observed in the eastern Gulf of Mexico near Florida southward from Cross City toward Tampa Bay. This remnant smoke should be attributed to the Arabia Bay wildfire in Clinch County, GA. Western Gulf of Mexico: Numerous fires were observed along the east Texas and west Louisiana coasts this evening. It is significant to note that the smoke plumes extended southward into the Gulf of Mexico. Arizona: Numerous control burns were present in this evening's satellite imagery across much of central Arizona. The smoke plumes were observed lifting to the northeast. Northern California: Numerous fires were detected this evening; however, due to extensive cloud cover, smoke plumes were difficult to observe. Myrga THE FORMAT OF THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS BEING MODIFIED.
