Eastern Northwest Territories: A wildfire producing locally moderately dense smoke and a broad area of thin density remnant smoke is burning in eastern Northwest Territories, east of Great Slave Lake. A surface high pressure system centered over the area is guiding the detached smoke north before it is wrapped south into Nunavut. Western Quebec: A large wildfire continues to burn in western Ontario this morning and is likely responsible for a thin density remnant smoke area that is seen in western Quebec, southeast of James Bay. Mid-Atlantic States and Coast: A large area of aerosol that likely consists of haze and pollution is present in the mid-Atlantic states and coasts of Georgia northward to Massachusetts. This aerosol ranges from thin to moderately dense and is not believed to contain much smoke, if any.
