Northeast/Eastern Canada: Area of remnant thin smoke is seen in visible satellite imagery today that moved across northeast Pennsylvania and central New York into eastern Maine. Another detached area can be seen over New Brunswick and the Gulf of St Lawrence. Smoke is likely a mix of large wildfire burning across northeastern Minnesota, fires in Manitoba/Ontario and Pacific Northwest. Northwest US/Northern Plains/Great Lakes Region: A rather large, elongated area of thin to medium dense smoke seen stretching from Michigan/Ohio/Indiana back west across Northern Plains to Montana/Wyoming/Idaho/Oregon. Eastern portion of smoke area is becoming mixed with remnant smoke from the Pagami Creek fire located in northeastern Minnesota, that continues to burn and produce smoke this morning. Majority of remnant smoke originated from numerous wildfires still burning across Pacific Northwest/Idaho/Montana/Wyoming. Eastern Minnesota/Wisconsin: Remnant area of light to moderately-dense smoke along with attached smoke plume associated with the Pagami Creek wildfire is continues to spread east-southeast across eastern Minnesota/Wisconsin and over Lake Superior. Florida/Georgia: Remnant light smoke is seen across southeastern Georgia and the northern peninsula of Florida and into the Gulf of Mexico. Source of smoke is believed to be from a large fire burning across southeastern Georgia.
