Southeast US/Gulf of Mexico: A large area of detached thin to moderately dense smoke is moving generally south across the far NE Gulf of Mexico from the mouth of the Swanee R. toward Tampa Bay/Clearwater not extending much onshore. The most dense area extends along 28N from 85.5W to 84W. This smoke was emitted last night from the Tate's Hell State Forest along the Franklin/Liberty county line... it continues to emit very light smoke due east at this time. A plume of light smoke can be seen moving W along 26N north of the Dry Tortugas reaching near 84W. This smoke likely emanated from a fire along the Monroe/Collier county line in the Big Cypress Nat'l Preserve likely due south of Monroe Center.
