DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Southern Texas: Blowing sand/dust was visible this evening originating from southern Texas moving southeastward over the Gulf of Mexico. Light density sand/dust plumes were visible just south of San Antonio, while more dense plumes were visible near Corpus Christi and Victoria. The event began around 1715Z and continued through sunset. Western Nevada: An isolated aplume of blowing dust (38.96N 119.38W) was visible in western Nevada between 2045-2245Z. Blowing dust/sand moved towards the southeast. LP Earlier Today: Blowing Dust Central/Eastern Texas: The area of dense blowing dust, originating from Chihuahua last night, is now seen moving across parts of central and into eastern Texas. The tail end of the blowing dust is stretching across part of southern Texas and into northern Mexico. J Kibler THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
