DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Currently: Smoke from fires burning in southern Florida has drifted over the eastern Gulf of Mexico adding to the area of light remnant smoke visible in morning imagery. Fires in the Caribbean have also output smoke that is drifting towards southern Florida. LP Earlier Today: Eastern Gulf of Mexico: The large area of light smoke noted in the morning narrative over the eastern Gulf and off the Atlantic coast of Florida has become more diffuse. The remnant smoke is now detected in a smaller area of the north central Gulf just off the coast of the western panhandle of Florida. Liddick THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
