DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Northeast British Columbia: Several fires in northeast British Columbia are generating light to dense smoke which is moving to the east. Gulf of Mexico: A large area of smoke remains over the western portion of the Gulf of Mexico. The smoke extends from the Pacific, west of Central America, north through the Gulf of Mexico into the southern Gulf States. East Coast: A large area of aerosols is located off the east coast. This area may contain smoke from fires throughout Mexico, Central America and wildfires in California as well as mix of Saharan and Siberian dust. -Salemi Earlier: Northeast British Columbia/Western Alberta: An area of light to moderately dense smoke lingering from fires burning in NE British Columbia yesterday is moving ese into W Alberta. J Kibler THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
