Western Gulf of Mexico to Southern Plains: The seasonal agricultural burning in the Yucatan and Central America has generated a broad swath of remnant smoke that extends from northern Honduras, across the Yucatan, much of the western Gulf of Mexico and across much of eastern Texas and Oklahoma. The western edge of the smoke was roughly along a line from Enid Oklahoma to Childress Texas to the eastern portion of the Big Bend of Texas. Most of the smoke over the southern Plains was light but areas near of the Golf of Mexico near the Yucatan had moderately dense areas of smoke. Northwest Alberta: An area of light remnant smoke was detected over northwest Alberta and was slowly moving to the east.
