Northeast Canada: An area of light to moderately dense smoke (with possibly dense smoke that is obscured by clouds) was seen this evening over the Gulf of St Lawrence, across Newfoundland and into the Atlantic south of Greenland. Additional smoke was likely over far eastern Quebec and southern Labrador but extensive cloud cover hindered detection in this area. Minnesota and vicinity: An area of light remnant smoke covered much of Minnesota and eastern South Dakota and was slowly migrating to the northwest. US Pacific NW: A pocket of thin smoke from Alaskan/Yukon Territory fires from about a week ago has wrapped SW over the Gulf of AK and come back ashore across Puget Sound and moving across the northern Cascades of Washington and into adjoining British Columbia.
