Southwestern United States: The Mountain fire in Riverside Co, CA, has resulted in a sizable area of light smoke stretching from extreme southern Nevada across southern CA and extreme southwestern AZ and into northern Baja Mexico. Western United States and Northern Plains: Residual light smoke from wildfires in northern NV, ID and western MT stretched from the source region northeastward into eastern MT, northern SD and southern Canada. Eastern Canada: Light to moderate residual smoke from wildfires in southeastern Quebec was located over the Atlantic Ocean southeast of Nova Scotia. Remainder of Canada: Large area of light smoke stretched from British Columbia to Quebec and northward across the central Northwest Territories. An area of moderate smoke covered Alberta. The sources for this smoke are numerous and include, most notably, wildfires in the Yukon Territory, Manitoba and Ontario. Mid Atlantic and New England Coast: A ribbon of haze stretched from along the Mid Atlantic Coast northeastward across the Atlantic off the New England Coast. In addition to pollutants due to a stagnant airmass, this area of haze may have a component of smoke from the fires in southeastern Quebec.
