DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

Central Canada: Numerous wildfires are still burning across the Northwest Territories, northern Saskatchewan, northern Manitoba, and northern Alberta. The smoke from these wildfires covered various parts of central Canada including part of Hudson's Bay. Coast of Labrador: A small patch of aerosol thought to be smoke was seen just off the coast of Labrador in eastern Canada. This remnant smoke could be from wildfires that were burning on southeast Quebec recently. Western US: Wildfires burning in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, and California were producing thin to moderate density smoke. The smoke covered northern California and parts of the Pacific Northwest southeastward to Nebraska. Sheffler THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
