Canada/North Central US: Moderately dense to dense residual smoke from wildfires burning in northern Manitoba and Saskatchewan yesterday can be seen moving across a large section of Ontario, western Quebec and south into the Great Lakes region moving as far south as northern Indiana/Illinois. The thicker areas of smoke stretches across a large part of the Hudson Bay, northwest Quebec and southeast Ontario. A small strip of heavier smoke is seen in southern Michigan and northern Indiana, Illinois and southeast Wisconsin. The full view of smoke is not seen due to cloud cover across parts of central/eastern Canada. Western US to Central US; An area of light residual smoke can be seen across parts of northern Nevada, into southern Idaho, western Wyoming, central/eastern Montana and into western North Dakota/South Dakota. The smoke came from a wildfire burning in central California that continues to product moderately dense to dense smoke. Also from this fire, smoke is moving north across central California. The smoke is combining with other residual smoke moving east across parts of northern Montana and Idaho and combining in the Dakotas. Most likely the smoke is across a larger section of this region, but cloud cover is blocking the full view of smoke. The second area of smoke is from wildfires burning in Oregon and Idaho.
