THROUGH 0245Z October 25, 2013
Northwestern US/Southwestern Canada: Numerous fires producing visible smoke plumes were scattered over portions of northern California, Oregon, Idaho, Washington, and British Columbia in southwestern Canada. A patch of leftover thin density smoke likely from the seasonal burning which occurred yesterday over the Northwestern US was seen moving to the northeast during the late afternoon across northern Oregon, southeastern Washington, northern Idaho, and western Montana. South Central and Southeastern US: A large number of what are believed to be mainly seasonal fires were detected in the region stretching from eastern Texas to Georgia. Many smoke plumes were also visible in satellite imagery associated with these fires. JS THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS.
