DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

BLOWING DUST Colorado/New Mexico/West Texas: A few areas of blowing dust were observed over this area in the afternoon and evening. An area of light dust was detected over southeast Colorado in the vicinity of the Arkansas river near Lamar. This dust was moving to the south. A narrow plume of light to moderately dense dust was seen just south of Clovis NM near the Texas border. This plume was moving to the east and reaching to Plainview Texas and beyond by sunset. Another narrow plume of light dust was seen north of Roswell NM which moved to the east, just reaching the Texas border by sunset. Another area of light dust was stirred up between Seminole and Lubbock TX and also moving to the east. Ruminski THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
