DESCRIPTIVE TEXT NARRATIVE FOR SMOKE/DUST OBSERVED IN SATELLITE IMAGERY

UPDATE FOR BLOWING DUST: Arizona An localized area of light blowing dust was seen in western Arizona over central Mohave county near Kingman. The dust was drifting to the south reaching nearly to the LaPaz border by sunset. California An area of light blowing dust was detected originating from near Menifee in western Riverside county. The dust was mixing with smoke from a fire in the Jurupa Valley and moving to the west and off the coast by sunset. Northern Baja An area of light blowing sand/dust was observed moving to the west and offshore from the Tijuana area in northern Baja Mexico. Light blowing sand/dust was also seen moving to the south and into the far northern Gulf of California. Ruminski THIS TEXT PRODUCT IS PRIMARILY INTENDED TO DESCRIBE SIGNIFICANT AREAS OF SMOKE ASSOCIATED WITH ACTIVE FIRES AND SMOKE WHICH HAS BECOME DETACHED FROM THE FIRES AND DRIFTED SOME DISTANCE AWAY FROM THE SOURCE FIRE..TYPICALLY OVER THE COURSE OF ONE OR MORE DAYS. AREAS OF BLOWING DUST ARE ALSO DESCRIBED.
